About CEF
The Carbondale Education Foundation was founded in December 2023 after observing the positive effects of local support for public schools in surrounding areas like Glenwood Springs, Basalt, and Aspen. Witnessing the significant impact of non-profits dedicated to supporting public education in these communities, we questioned the lack of similar community support in Carbondale. We formed a Board, filed for 501(c)3 status with the IRS, and got to work to fill the gaps wherever we could.

Our board is comprised of community members, parents, school administrators - all of whom are passionate about public school and generating the support and funds our teachers and students need to thrive. Our vision is a Carbondale committed to academic excellence, innovation, and inclusivity. Together, we are shaping a brighter future by investing in the foundation of K-12 education and nurturing the leaders of tomorrow.
